This extremely dark and violent anime is brought to you by Clamp, one of the most popular team of manga artists in Japan. X was originally a manga series, but was made into a full feature length movie in Japan a while back. That movie was released here in America late 2000. A favorite among anime fans for its apocalyptic story line, beautifully drawn characters, and loads of violence, X is guaranteed to please all types of fans. Some advice though: do note that this is a very bloody and gruesome series, and the story is pretty intricate and features crossover characters from other Clamp work, such as Clamp Detectives and Tokyo Babylon. X centers on Kamui, a youth gifted with incredible powers even he can't comprehend. There are two forces at work that can decide the fate of the Earth: The Dragons of Heaven wish to protect mankind, and the Dragons of Earth want to bring an end to the human race in order to bring about a rebirth of the world. Kamui is thrust into this battle, forced to choose a side and fight for their respective causes. However, it was preordained that his best and closest friend, Fuuma, would eventually become the leader of the opposing side once Kamui makes his decision... | |||||||
