A new evil is threatening the world, and who do you call? Lina Inverse, the greatest sorceress of the land - although only 15 years old, she already possesses the power of the legendary Dragon Slave and is a force to be reckoned with! Just make sure you have enough money and food to pay her, because her services don't come cheap; she's been known to out-eat men twice her size! As a 14-year-old magical genius, Lina first encounters her life-long rival and fellow sorceress, Naga the Serpent. With Lina's unparalled powers and Naga's creepy laugh, they strike fear into the hearts of bandits and bad guys everywhere during the Slayers Special and Excellent series, which are the OAVs. In the first Slayers series, Lina meets Gourry Gabriev, a blonde, brainless swordsman who owns the famous "Sword of Light." While she schemes to steal the powerful sword from him, he is determined to protect her from whatever evil awaits - even though he needs it more than she does! They encounter various enemies who all have the common goal of resurrecting the power of Zanaffar, a demon-lord sealed away ages ago. They also add to their group Zelgadiss Graywords, a mysterious chimera who is part-man, part-golem, and part-demon, and Amelia wil Tesla Saillune, a princess and valiant defender of justice. They find great help from Sylphiel Nels Lahda, a wielder of White Magic as they fight desperately against the Lord of Darkness, Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu, and Red Priest Rezo, a blind man of faith who turned to the dark side of magic. Lina and gang manage to meet up again in Slayers Next, in which the major opponent is Hellmaster Fibrizo, who looks like a little boy, but is actually a powerful magician who commands the spirits of the dead. They are joined by the enigmatic Xelloss, a subordinate of a demon lord who serves Shabranigdu. He is extremely secretive about his goals and reasons for his actions, but always seems to be on the winning side of any battle. In this fight against Fibrizo, Lina must use a forbidden incantation, the dreaded "Giga Slave," and put her own life in peril while saving the world! In the last television series, Slayers Try, the barriers around Lina's world fall, making travel and exploration an all-new experience for Lina and her friends. She tours the lands surrounding her country and gets into new scrapes and adventures before stumbling upon an ancient feud with the potential to destroy the universe. She meets Filia ul Copt, a high priestess and Golden Dragon who begs Lina to help her prevent the resurrection of Dark Star, a demon lord set on annihilating her world. Enemies and surprising allies cross planets and dimensions to join in the battle. Lina, Gourry, Zelgadiss, and Amelia are in the greatest fight of their lives in this last adventure as once again, they strive to protect their world.
