Kodomo no Omocha (Kodocha)    For one hyper child TV star, Sana Kurata, school is the worse place to be ... because class is never in session! In fact, total chaos reigns in the classroom because of some strange influence the class troublemaker, Akito Hayama, holds over their teacher. Sana, determined to find out, is quickly caught into a bizarre friend/foe relationship with the boy, who, she soon learns, is having problems at home far greater than a 6th grader should deal with. When the dust from this first crisis settles, many more problems pop up, from the mystery of Sana's birth to her relationship with her manager and boyfriend(?!) Rei. Following the characters into junior high, the second part of Kodocha introduces many new people, while the third part focuses on Sana's work on a drama in New York with Naozumi, a popular child heartthrob and potential rival against Hayama. The final sections settle questions about more relationships, in particular, between Sana and Akito. Known for it's furiously paced dialogue and remarkable characters (ie. Sana's mother has a squirrel living in her hat/hair), Kodocha never fails to deliver laughs as it draws you into the world of grade-school romance and the pains of growing up.

Kodomo no Omocha ran for 102 episodes from April 1996 through March 1998. In manga form, it is contained in 10 volumes. For more information, visit:
