The Seiryuu represent Kutou Country to the east, represented by the serpentine dragon deity named Seiryuu. He has one Miko, or priestess, who herself has seven Seishi, or warriors. Each warrior has a mark on their body, in the shape of a Chinese character. Real names and locations of marks are given in italics.

YUI HONGOU

Intelligent and mature, Yui is Miaka's best friend and follows her into the Book of Four Gods, becoming Seiryuu no Miko. Although she appears strong and confident outwardly, she really depends on her loved ones, so a conceived betrayal sparks destructive emotions of jealousy and hate. Her unfortunate entrance into the world of the book scars her and makes her emotionally vulnerable.
