El Hazard: The Magnificent World After losing his position as Student Body President due to a testimony from Makoto Mizuhara, the corrupt and twisted Katsuhiko Jinnai has finally had it. He flips out and chases his nemesis around the school, intent on hanging the hapless boy -- his opponent in everything from athletic races to grades on tests. However, just as Makoto is cornered, everything stops around him, including Jinnai who is frozen in mid-air. The bewildered Makoto wanders upon the new excavation site on campus, which he had discovered earlier while in the basement… and something strange and wonderful happens. An unseen vessel opens on recognition of Makoto and a woman exits, practically falling into the boy’s arms. She says something incomprehensible to Makoto and uses the last of her strength to send him to El Hazard, the Magnificent World to complete his destiny in its future history. Other people in the vicinity are also sent back, including Jinnai and his sister Nanami, and their alcoholic teacher, Fujisawa. On El Hazard, the country of Roshtaria is in a stalemate war against the Bugrom Empire, and the princesses Rune Venus and Fatora are both needed in order to use the ultimate weapon, the “Eye of God.” But Princess Fatora is missing, and Makoto, who shares an uncanny resemblance to her, is asked to take on her role. With only a new life ahead of them on El Hazard, Jinnai joins Bugrom while Makoto and the others plan to help Roshtaria by going to appeal to the Three Holy Priestesses for guidance and help.
