Eat Man    “Meet Bolt Crank, mercenary extraordinaire, and the man who eats metal! Through his travels, he stops on the way to make a few bucks and occasionally rescue damsels in distress. His taste for metal gives quite an edge as he becomes capable of generating an assortment of weapons from his hand! It's a strange ability, but it seems to come in handy, so to speak. Bolt has an edge over his adversaries, but will be enough?”

Ebichu    Sex, Camembert cheese, and a house-keeping hamster? Yes, these topics and more are covered in Gainax's latest comedy - a raunchy, hilarious anime about a lonely office lady with a bastard boyfriend, and her pet hamster and housekeeper Ebichu. Yes, it is a weird show, but that's part of its appeal. You'll never know when you'll be shocked next, and there are plenty of moments, from blatant (but silly) acts of animal cruelty to the boyfriend's unrelenting insensitivity. Despite the over-the-top animation, it's definitely not for kids, with a surprising amount of sex and violence. But then again, perhaps that's why it's so entertaining.

Ebichu is a short anime series based on the manga by Itoo Risa. For more information:

Elementalors    In the human world, another dimension exists - that in which representatives of the elements, named Elementalors, engage in constant battles to maintain the natural order of the universe. However, one water Elementalor Lord Shiki, has begun an onslaught against the other clans in an attempt to release his daughter, a Deeper gone insane, from her eternal stasis in ice. If Shiki manages to free Shiohisa, the world as they know it would be totally destroyed by the girl’s involuntary and wild actions. As the Elementalors gather against this threat, two unwitting teenagers will be the key to this final fight… Kagura, a lonely and depressed teenager who blames himself for his brother-in-law's tragic death, and Asami, Kagura’s childhood friend. Together in the other dimension, Kagura and Asami must realize their own powers and love to overcome personal insecurities and hopelessness in order to succeed.

Elementalors was a theatrically released movie in Japan based on a 4-volume manga by Takeshi Okazaki.

El Hazard: The Magnificent World    After losing his position as Student Body President due to a testimony from Makoto Mizuhara, the corrupt and twisted Katsuhiko Jinnai has finally had it. He flips out and chases his nemesis around the school, intent on hanging the hapless boy -- his opponent in everything from athletic races to grades on tests. However, just as Makoto is cornered, everything stops around him, including Jinnai who is frozen in mid-air. The bewildered Makoto wanders upon the new excavation site on campus, which he had discovered earlier while in the basement… and something strange and wonderful happens. An unseen vessel opens on recognition of Makoto and a woman exits, practically falling into the boy’s arms. She says something incomprehensible to Makoto and uses the last of her strength to send him to El Hazard, the Magnificent World to complete his destiny in its future history. Other people in the vicinity are also sent back, including Jinnai and his sister Nanami, and their alcoholic teacher, Fujisawa. On El Hazard, the country of Roshtaria is in a stalemate war against the Bugrom Empire, and the princesses Rune Venus and Fatora are both needed in order to use the ultimate weapon, the “Eye of God.” But Princess Fatora is missing, and Makoto, who shares an uncanny resemblance to her, is asked to take on her role. With only a new life ahead of them on El Hazard, Jinnai joins Bugrom while Makoto and the others plan to help Roshtaria by going to appeal to the Three Holy Priestesses for guidance and help.

El Hazard was a 7-episode OAV series followed up by a 26 episode TV series, called the Wanderers. Recently, a second OAV series was released, and yet another television series is hitting television in Japan. For more information on the OAV series, please visit these sites:
