AD Police    This is an OAV series concentrating on the AD Police first seen in "Bubble Gum Crisis", a few years before the first appearance of the Knight Sabers. The plots have the AD Police dealing with more thought-provoking conflicts and issues, such as questions about humanity and life. The stories involve the entire police department, but the connecting character is the rookie, Leon McNichol.

There are 3 OAVs in this series released by AnimeEigo. For more info, go here:

All-Purpose Cat Girl Nuku Nuku    "When inventor Kyusaku Natsume transfers the brain of his son Ryunosuke's cat into a top secret android body, he doesn't lose a family pet ... he gains a daughter! Nuku Nuku may appear to be a teenage girl, but her cute and cuddly exterior hides both the superhuman strength of the world's most advanced android chassis and the lightning quick sense and reflexes of a domestic feline, abilities she'll need to defend Ryunosuke from the forces of Mishima Heavy Industries, a giant conglomerate run by the world's most ruthless businesswoman, Akiko Mishima, who just happens to be Natsume's ex-wife and Ryunosuke's mother! To call the resulting conflict the greatest custody battle of all time is an understatement, especially since Akiko has stacked the deck by employing Mishima Heavy Industries' ridiculously powerful corporate muscle in her efforts to steal back Ryunosuke! Such a contest might seem just a bit uneven, but even a state of the art gunship is just a cat toy for Nuku Nuku!" - Movic

There are two OAV series, as well as a TV series for this anime. For more information:

Ah! Megamisama! (Ah! My Goddess)    See Oh! My Goddess

Aika    In the year 2036, life is continuing after tragedy struck 20 earlier - a global disaster that resulted in 90% of Japan submerged underwater. Important items and information were lost beneath the seas until a new occupational group of "Salvagers" came about - agents hired by corporations and the government to retrieve and collect those objects. Aika is one the best and brightest of the Salvagers, (not to mention the one wearing the shortest skirts!) and her next mission is to find and retrieve data pertaining to the extremely powerful energy source, Lago. However, another large organization has some interest in this, leading to several clashes and Aika's capture! In the second story arc, Aika's long-standing confrontation with the Delmo Army finally comes to an end.

Aika is a seven part OAV series released by Central Park Media/ US Manga Corps. Not for kids! 17+ only as there's a lot of fan-service. For more information on Aika go here:

Akazukin Chacha    Akazukin Chacha (Red Riding Hood Chacha) chronicles the hilarious adventures of a girl named Chacha, an aspiring and bumbling young wizard. She lives with her mentor, Seravy - the world's most powerful wizard, and his favorite doll, Elizabeth. Chacha's companions include her best friend Riiya, a werewolf who transforms into an adorable puppy - ahem, wolf - and Shiine, another young magician studying under Seravy's rival, Dorothy. Of course, Chacha has a long way to go before she completes her training, due to her tendency to mess up spells with accidental puns. The kids enroll in Urara's magic school and plenty more characters and side plots are introduced from there. Chacha's happy carefree existence is interrupted now and then by the plottings of the evil Lord Daimaou, who has an interest in her and her past. To fight numerous underlings and enemies, Chacha, with Riiya and Shiine's help, transforms into the Magical Princess Holy-Up using a necklace, ring, and bracelet. The second part of the series deals with Chacha's new role as the "World's Strongest Wizard" as she defends her position against claim seekers. The last part is mostly laughs and relationship-developing stories, especially since Holy-Up retired from the scene.

This series lasted 74 television episodes, and spawned a 3 part OAV series and 1 special. Some Akazukin Chacha links:

Akira    One of anime's classics! Akira is set in Neo-Tokyo, 31 years after the original Tokyo had been completely destroyed by a powerful bomb of unknown origin, and which spurred the devastating World War III that followed. One night, Tetsuo - part of the Kaneda motocycle gang - crashes, trying avoid a boy with the face of an old man. Although everything seems fine the next day, Tetsuo soon finds out differently. The mysterious boy was part of a secret military project dealing with the development of supernatural powers as human weapons. Tetsuo is the newest addition to the project, and he quickly learns the horrors of hallucinations and his own psychic powers, which rise much faster than anyone expected. He stumbles upon the location of an underground freezing chamber, where the mysterious Akira is stored. The source of their fears - something even the military couldn't control - was locked away - hopefully, forever. But, Akira is something Tetsuo would discover firsthand - and set free.

Angel's Egg    "The movie begins at sunset and ends at sunrise; between these periods, two characters wander through an empty world. The landscapes consist of forests, leaning Gothic buildings, and strange alchemical structures made of fish skeletons, all in shades of green, purple, and blue. Through the damp night walks a little girl holding an enormous egg with warmth and care; later she is joined by a young man, perhaps a soldier, who follows her and tries to win her trust. Fountains splash. Water gurgles. Very little happens, though the beginning and ending are clear."

Angel's Egg is a 70 minute film which has attained cult status in Japan. The site from which we acquired our information is here:

Angelic Layer    Suzuhara Misaki arrives in Tokyo to live with her eccentric aunt, but soon gets lost after leaving the train station. A giant television screen catches her eye, and she is instantly entranced in the ongoing battle it depicts. Misaki discovers the world of the Angelic Layer, a kind of virtual reality where customizable dolls, controlled telepathically by their owners, fight for fame and honor. With the help of Icchan, a suspicious-looking, but well-meaning stranger, Misaki purchases supplies to create her own doll, or angel, which she names Hikaru. It's only the beginning for Misaki, as she embarks on a journey that will test her courage, dedication, and confidence!

Appleseed    In an ideal city named Olympus - free of pollution, suffering, and (supposedly) crime - almost 80% of the population consists of "Bioroids," part mecha and part organic beings. A terrorist group protesting the predominance of Bioroids tries to take over Gaia, the city's main super computer. Two members from ESWAT, a special branch of the Olympus Police Department, come in to save the day: Deunan, a cop, and her Bioroid partner Hitomi. After routing the terrorists, the duo must finish the job and track down and capture the leader of the group, who managed to escape. An interesting thought arises towards the end - making the audience wonder who the protagonists really are and where society is heading.

Appleseed is a one part OAV spawned from a much more popular manga series. For more Appleseed information:

Armitage III    On a colonized Mars in the year 2179, Rene D'anclaude has declared war on all "Third Type" robots - humanoids designed to perform all the jobs humans have dismissed. They look and behave as humans do and so, are living undetected within the general populace. One cyper-punk cop, Naomi Armitage, just happens to be a "Third" and fights D'anclaude's butchery with her partner, Ross Sylibus, who has a grudge against robots himself. Ross must overcome his prejudices and learn new things about humanity, however, when he must take on cybernetic limb replacements to survive serious injuries. As he and Armitage fight against D'anclaude, their battle guides the way to the mystery of why the "Third Type" was created - ultimately leading to a secret that could destroy two worlds!

On her 16th birthday, Aya Mikage discovers she is the reincarnation of Ceres, and finds herself ostracized from and hunted by her family. Fortunately she is given sanctuary by the Aogiris, who also have tennyo blood, and is rescued repeatedly by a mysterious man with no past.
